CLOGGERS STEPPING UP 2008 COMPETITION

Fort Mitchell, KY/July 21, 2008-For 15 years it's been a Thanksgiving weekend tradition at Fort Mitchell's Drawbridge Inn-the Midwest Clogging Workshop-but no more. The good news is that the show will go on but it's moved up on the schedule. This year's show is scheduled for July 31 through August 2.

Organizer Fonda Hill says they decided after last year's event to move it to the summertime. "It became too difficult to attract attendees given the show was held over a major holiday AND shopping weekend. We were competing with family schedules. And as we continue to attract younger participants to the hobby that family issue became more problematic. So far, there has been a very positive reaction to the change."

Hill says about 200 dancers from as far away as Canada are expected with dancing slated for Friday, August 1 from 8:30 to noon and 8-10 p.m and Saturday August 2, 8-10 p.m. The community is welcome to the public dance Thursday evening, July 31 at 8 p.m. Admission is $5.
